The short version
Eastern Suburbs Bathroom Renovations is a referral service for bathroom, ensuite, powder room and laundry work between Kensington and the coast. You tell us about the room, a measure is arranged, and the licensed builder who would do the job prepares a written quote.
We do not hold a builder's licence ourselves, and we would rather say so on this page than have you find out later.
The builder
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request — at the discovery call or at any point you ask.
Once you have the number, look it up on the NSW Fair Trading register. The listing shows the licence class, whether it is current, its expiry and any disciplinary action. Please check it rather than relying on us.
Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing and asbestos removal are licensed separately in NSW and are carried out by appropriately licensed trades.
Why only the Eastern Suburbs
Because the bathrooms here are a specialty of their own. Interwar walk-ups with mortar-bed floors and pipes cast into concrete. Federation semis with a wet area tacked onto the back decades later. Victorian terraces where the drainage runs down three metres of rear wall. Beachfront units where cheap chrome pits within a couple of summers.
Add strata committees, heritage conservation areas across Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra councils, and streets where a skip bin needs a permit, and generic advice stops being useful. Knowing that a Bondi walk-up has no lift, or that a Paddington terrace may straddle two councils' worth of rules depending on the side of Oxford Street, changes the quote and the program.
What we believe about small bathrooms
That they deserve the same care as large ones, and usually more. In a room under five square metres there is no spare wall to recover from a poor decision, so the layout is drawn to scale before a product is chosen.
That luxury in a compact space comes from removing interruptions — hobs, frames, projecting cabinets, busy grout lines — rather than adding features.
That durability is part of the finish. In salt air, a tap that looks beautiful for two years and pits for eight was never high-end.
What we will not do
- Invent reviews or ratings. This is a new business with no reviews yet, and there are none on this site.
- Claim years of experience or project counts we cannot substantiate.
- Price a bathroom over the phone. The factors that move the number are only visible on site.
- Print licence numbers across the website. They are given to you directly, on request.
How it works
- A free measure and conversation about the room
- A scaled drawing and a written, itemised quote
- Selections confirmed and strata or council paperwork prepared where needed
- A contract with the builder, home building compensation cover in place for work over $20,000 before any deposit is requested, and a deposit of no more than 10 per cent
- The build, stage by stage, with waterproofing certified
